I felt like I should take a minute to record some brief thoughts about yesterday's election. I'm feeling a bit patriotic at the moment, so pardon me for that. I think that we definitely live in some tumultuous times, and this country is in serious need of a change. Could Barack Obama be the answer we've been looking for? I'm really excited to find out. We've known for a few weeks that our dear republican party was going to get squashed in this election. I have been reading articles and researching debate topics in an effort to educate myself about Obama's stance on many important issues. He doesn't plan on doing things the way they've been done in the past, and the thought of change has made me nervous. But last night I found Obama's acceptance speech to be really inspiring. And how amazing is it that our country could finally put aside all the hatred we've felt in the past and elect our first African American president? This day is destined to go down in the history books.Also... I just read on the internet this morning that proposition 8 will more than likely pass! It means so much to me to know that so many other Americans appreciate the importance of a conventional marriage! For the first time in a long time, I'm feeling hopeful and optimistic about our country's future. God Bless America!

I am glad of the results too. I think that there are some good changes headed our way. =) It has been neat to be around for this election, so many first and historic moments.
Blog looks great! Loving this new color! :) Sarah is the blog master! :)
Although I'm a little unsure of the direction Obama is headed, I hope so much that he truly has the best of intentions in office and that our country sees positive changes take place - not just changes! I agree that electing an African American as president is monumental and says a lot about the progress the people of this nation have made. I'm cautiously optimistic about the future!
I'm sorry, but I am not happy at all. People only elected him cause they think that they'll get a free hand out. One lady even said after he won that she doesn't have to pay her mortgage anymore cause she helped him so he'll help her now. He won't even put his hand over his heart for our flag. He doesn't speak truth. I do however, hope this isn't true and hope he will make good progress with our country. But we shall see.
I'm in Tamara's ward and she talks a lot about you, so I wanted to see your blog. It's so cute! I don't know how to do half the things you do and I love the digital scrapbooking. I wanted to comment on this post because I actually voted for Obama. A lot of people don't know this, but he also supports the traditional definition of marriage which makes a lot of his very liberal supporters mad, but that's something us Mormons can feel happy about!
