I Was NOT Asleep!!!

Sweet little Nicole is on some new medicine that just wipes her out.  She will randomly fall asleep wherever she happens to be if she allows herself to stop for a minute or two.  It's a little unnerving.  Kinda like watching the Energizer Bunny just die.  We've caught her sleeping several times and the most random places.  The funny thing is, whenever we tell her she was asleep she completely denies it and yells at us defensively with phrases such as, "I was NOT asleep!!! Why do you always say that I'm sleeping when I wasn't?"
Well my dear... here's the proof.  I flashed the camera in your eyes at least half a dozen times and there you lay sound asleep.

Sundress Give-Away

I'm not sure if any of you follow my sewing blog, but last month I made this dress for my neice Lucy.  I  featured a step-by-step tutorial so all my readers could make it themselves. This fancy little tutorial landeded me a chance to be featured on another blog called Made by Heidi, and to do a give-away of this little dress.

So if you love it and you want a chance to win one of your very own...One that looks a little something like this?

One made especially for you by me?

Well, here's your chance.   I'm being featured on Made by Heidi's

You'll have a chance to win a custom dress designed and sewn by me for your little one.  The winner will be chosen on August 18th!

Summer Time Art

My visiting teacher gave me the cutest idea.  She told me that she buys finger paints and lets her little guy out outside and paint the vinyl fence.  When I first heard this I was like, "What?  You can't do that!  Can you do that?  I don't know... it's so unconventional!"  But after thinking about it for a while, I realized that I could definitely afford to turn my 'mommy fun gauge' up a notch or two.  So, putting my hesitations aside, I went to the store and bought some paints.
It turned out to be so much fun!

The best part of all was that the clean-up process turned out to be just as much fun as the painting itself.

Thanks Patti for the great idea.  It really helped me go against my instincts and be a fun mom for once!
