When I was a girl, our barbies were no strangers to the great outdoors. They were adventurous explorers who weren't afraid of a little mud. Rock climbing and repelling were everyday excursions. They were deep sea divers in our bath-tub, and fairies from Fern Gully in our shower. They loved to dive off the back of my dad's pick-up truck, and to fly up and get stuck in the trees. We hung them from ceiling fans and spun them off chairs. Each of them was an adored client of Salon Jill and Sarah's Piercing Shop and they had the high-fashion hair cuts and radical new piercings to prove it. Their poor feet got chewed off within days out of the box, and their knees got bent in such ways that their plastic insides came bursting out. Shoes were lost within seconds, and clothes within hours. Naked barbies were just as fun as those with clothes on. Naked Ken dolls were even funner. :) They had magic marker make-up and home-made clothes and we thought they were the most beautiful things in the whole, wide world.
It's fun for me to see my girls play in the same way we did as kids, and their barbies are already showing the wear from the love of some rough 'n tumble girls.

OK...I had lots of your posts to catch up on...and I CAN'T believe Audrey cut her hair! My sister did that once...and I loved your insomnia do's and don'ts...so helpful!
Haha I did similar things to my barbies... including cutting all the hair and boobs (twisted I know) off the barbie so that we could have more boy barbies. Haha what does that say about me?
Ahhh.. the memories...
I can still hear dad yelling at us to get those Barbie's out of our mouths. Poor Barbie toes. Plus the Sharpie make-up jobs and the wild hair cuts. So great! Your girls are so cute all playing together. Now you just need one more and you have the Roundy girls, take 2!
OH man! The best part about the Barbies was the fun voices that came flying out. I swear they would get higher and higher ptich! :) Good times Sarah! I love you girls! And this pic puts a little smile on my face.
I think every girl does that, I remember playing with my barbies all the time and they could do anything. But I kept mine in good condition and still have them and their orginial clothes. My girls it is a different story, they destroy theirs within seconds. But it is still fun to watch them play, brings back memories. So cute.
