I love Memorial Day! I know it's not really the nature of the holiday, but it makes me happy and excited which I think is okay. For me it has always marked the real beginning of Summer. As a kid we would always go camping on Memorial Day, and as adults Ryan & I have always made it a day to spend with friends.
This year we were lucky enough to spend the day with our good friends the Beebes. We clicked with them immediately after moving into our new house, and I'd like to say we're to the pretty darn great friend status. They make me laugh and we have a lot of fun together.
Yesterday was packed with Beebe fun. Audrey B. & I started the day with a trip to the fabric store (so she can make a baptism dress for Khursten yay!) and our husbands were so kind and 'watched the kids' for us while they played X-Box.
After that we all decided to go up to the canyons and have a picnic in the mountains. We got a picnic table at the Spruces and set up camp. We spent the day roasting hotdogs, eating smores, playing on 'stick horses', being adventurous, taking pictures, and just having a relaxed and stress-free time.
When we all started to get a little chilly, we decided to hurry home and hit up a drive-in movie. Our family had never done that before. It was so much fun. The girls got to stay up until 1:30 watching movies out of the back of our Durango. I wish I had gotten a few pictures. I definitely think we'll be doing that again sometime soon. Thanks for the fun suggestion Beebes. And thanks for the fun day.
