It's that time of year where there's secrets a-plenty. I'm constantly dancing around questions, trying not to out-right lie about many thing Christmas related. But what to do about this blob? Can you see it? Do you think the girls will notice? As much as I'd like to pretend, I don't think the sheet's fooling anyone. Hmm... When we built this house I didn't quite realize just how little storage there was. No extra closets, no basement, no shed, no nooks in the garage... As the girls get older, they'll get smarter. They're soon going to get really suspicious about this not-so-inconspicuous blob. This year we're keeping our bedroom door locked, but it won't take long before they realize all they need is a bobbypin and the secrets of Christmas are theirs. Any ideas?

Looks like the blob is hiding some fun stuff! My mom always hid some of our presents in the trunk...I think. She just had to be careful never to open it while we were around...not so easy to do. I like your corner blob and locked doors for now, though. You may have to resort to grandma's house...
When I was younger, and after the magic of Christmas had been revealed, my parents told us where the surprises were, and that we were more than welcome to look, but Christmas wouldn't be as much fun if we did.
None of the four of us ever looked!
Thanks for the ideas. We actually discussed the trunk option, but I think we have about 4 trunks full already. Audrey- I love that you never looked! That would NEVER have worked with us as kids. My dad taught us how to secretly unwrap and then rewrap all of our presents so that we could know what they all were. I still to this day can't resist peeking if there's ever an opportunity. I bet that would work on Samuel, but I'm guessing my kids are too much like I am.
When my siblings and me were younger, our parents hid our presents at one my our grandparents houses that we rarely went to, that way my sister couldn't unwrap and rewrap presents.
I feel your pain. We have a camper that we keep them in and lock it, so far they haven't noticed when they go in there to get something. Good luck
Ours are all stashed in my closet with a dress hung over them, but soon we will face the same thing.
Remember when we where kids, trying to get into mom and dad's closet? Good times. I think that is half the fun if you are a kid, trying to snoop out the good stuff.
Your blob cracks me up. It isn't at all suspicious!
Are your girls at all tempted to peak? I love it, very creative.
Blob?? What blob? I don't know what you're talking about. It's like it's not even there - the sheet just blends right in with the wall. Well, maybe not so much. I definitely think some stuff might need to migrate to your parents' or in-laws' house!
Do you have an attic?
Put a plant on top and let them think you bought a very large ugly plant shelf. Looks like they will have a fun Christmas.
Maybe you and Jill need to swap presents so when they do peek they will be the wrong presents... and for the wrong gender. Then they will be disappointed.
I hide mine in my closet and just move my shoes aside and put my bath robe over the presents and tell my kids not to look. But I know soon they'll wonder why there are still presents in the closet when their gifts from mom and dad are already under the tree. So I'd like some ideas too. My sisters and I never did find out where my parents hid ours when we were little, so maybe I'll get ideas from my mom.
