So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Good-bye

So you know how when you're a kid and somehow your cats magically end up finding a wonderful new home on a farm with horses and chickens to chase; and you know they're so much happier there. You're so happy for the new-found joy that you forget how sad you are that your cat is gone? I think we may have found that same utopia for our cat Roxy. I put her up on KSL (per your great suggestions) and we found her the perfect match.
Tonight her new owner came and took her away. He is a sweet guy who lives by himself in a 5-bedroom house. No kids to chase her and pull her tail. Just one man for her to love and have all to herself. He said his cat that he had for 15 years passed away and he's been looking for a new one. It was bittersweet as we said good-bye, but I really know she'll be much happier. He even said he'd send us emails to let us know how she's liking her new home.
Now all I need to do is convince one very sad Khursten that this was indeed the right move.

How sad for Khursten to have lost a friend, but at least Roxy is going some place where she'll have all the love, attention, and space she wants. I'm glad things worked out well for both your family, and for her!

That is sad for Khursten, but I have to say...I don't like cats either. But they all seem to like me! I'm terrified of them, so I run screaming when one approaches me. So now I guess I don't have to be scared at your house! Ha ha...just kidding. And that's so cool that you get to visit Tamara! Maybe I should "pretend" to price tickets on Priceline to Nashville to visit my parents. Sorry, Joe...I didn't realize I was REALLY buying them! I'm excited for you!

Wow - can't believe your cat is gone that fast! It will all be for the best!

I can't believe that went that fast. IT sounds like you found the perfect guy for Ms. Roxy. I am sure she will be very happy being spoiled rotten in her new, five bedroom palace.
Don't worry about Khursten, I will just sneak a quiet word in her ear that her birthday is coming up and wouldn't a brand new puppy be so much fun?

Congratulations! That is really hard to find a new owner for a pet. I'm glad you found a great place for her.
