Finished it... Finally!

Okay all my fellow Edward & Bella fans. I finally finished this book. Loved it! I thought it was a perfect ending. My only critique was that I didn't think she could have possibly come up with a worse name than Renesmee Carlie, but in the grand scheme of things, I guess that doesn't really matter. I don't want to give anything away in case some of you haven't had the pleasure of reading this yet. Chime in! Tell me your thoughts. We can all have a nice virtual book club and discuss in detail all of our favorite parts! For those of you who haven't read this yet... Spoiler Alert! Use caution when reading comments. :) Hooray. I love it when a good book leaves you with a residual high.

Yay! I finished it last night and loved it! I agree with your comment on the name Renesmee, and I find Nessie even worse. It was so crazy when Jacob imprinted!! That was a total shocker, but a great way to be able to keep Jake in the family and no longer jealous of Edward and Bella. I'm so glad that the werewolves and vampires finally got along in this book. :)

Hooray Hooray! Her writing is a little fantastic in that she sees things in the most romantic and optimistic way so of course we knew to hope for the happiest ending possible. But... I kind of loved that!

I loved it too! She really did tie things all together and made everyone play nice. So good.
I liked how she made Bella belong somewhere and be the star. Poor Bella never felt like she fit in until she turned. Happy little family.

Can't comment yet. I am saving the book for this weekend tour. You can bet I'll jump on the train once I am finished. Oh and the yard looks great. Will I recognize which house is yours?

Ummm...I feel totally not a part of the "in" crowd right now. I haven't read a single Twilight book. Several girls in my ward here have been trying to convince me to read them, but I haven't been motivated. Then, I went and read my cousins blog and he totally bashed the books. He's a poet and literature/English professor so maybe he's a bit of a snob. The girls here didn't seem too thrilled with the last book so to see that you loved it makes me curious...maybe even curious enough to actually read all of them.

I just finished the book last night (Friday) and I did love it too! I agree the name was TERRIBLE!! Also, and this is a spoiler for those who have not read it...I was a bit disappointed that there was never a real fight with the Volturi at the end. She built up this perfect fight scene and then...nothing. Maybe that will leave it open to write another book that is years later where they do fight them. Overall though I did like it, just a few things I was disappointed in, but isn't that always the way with the end of something great?!!!

I thought it was pretty good. I had to be somewhat good to read that ridiculous number of pages in 2 days. I think she tied it all together nicely. But the whole book sure didn't have as much suspense and fight as the other books. Oh well....everyone is happy. I guess that's the best ending-right.
And tell Tamara we are wanting her to update her blog so we can see pics of the new baby!

Forget the comment on Tamara. For some reason the updates weren't coming up but I see now she does have lots of updates! Off to read!

Rachelle... I know what you're talking about. As I was reading I kept thinking to myself, "If they don't end up fighting I'm going to be ticked!" But... the way she came to the resolution was really good. They didn't all of the sudden decide to make peace for no reason (which I was worried she'd do) I thought her reasoning that the Volturi had never been challenged (and therefor chickened out when they were) was really believable.

True, true about the fight. I think that she handled it well, I was just looking forward to a good fight scene. They are all vampires and could have had a WAY cool fight sequence! Also, you read the host, right? What did you think? I am thinking of reading it.

I really liked The Host. I think she's got some really creative ideas. Her twists on the alien abduction were a cool take, I thought. It was another that I couldn't put down. But... if I'm going to give my honest review... I have two complaints. 1.) I think her leading ladies are a little too whiney and they need some self esteem. By the end of the book I just want to tell them to look in the mirror and tell themselves 20 times that they're awesome. 2.) I think she needs to brainstorm a little harder on her names. This book had all different planets with different names and some of them were a little lame. That's my only negative. Everything else was +++.

OK...I LOVED Bella's first book. I also really loved Jacob's book. The whole part of her becoming a vampire was really cool, and I loved that Jacob imprinted, etc. I loved how everything worked together! BUT...I was a little disappointed in the ending. Not disappointed in the happy ever after, but disappointed that there wasn't a fight or SOMETHING. I was waiting for more. I'm kind of sad it's over...we should all go see the Twilight movie, though!

OK, so I just bought the first book (Twilight) in Seattle on Sunday and finished it on Monday afternoon. Do you have the second book to lend me, or maybe I can just go to the library???? I didn't read the comments, because I didn't want to find out too much.

I liked it, it was a good series. I was glad Jake imprinted, it really was the only way for his story to end happily. While I was disappointed the Volturi didn't fight, I kind of see them as the Wizard in the Wizard of Oz. With their primary defenses neutralized, they would have lost their power and position in an actual fight regardless of the outcome. As for Renesmee, it's ok as a name and far better than Nessie.

I figured Jake would imprint by the end of the book, but it really surprised me that he imprinted on Nessie. Didn't see that one coming! It made me laugh though. (and it kind of creeps me out a little at the same time) :)
